In what seemed like an impossible task during the month of November and early portions of December, Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry kept his team motivated and the players have really begun to play for each other — while playing with consistency in each game and finishing games in the critical moments.

Eleven days ago, the New Orleans Pelicans (now 13-21) found themselves dealing with a 113-100 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. The Pelicans at that point had lost two-thirds (20 out of 30) of their games, and seemed destined to finish near the bottom of the NBA’s Western Conference.

After the Florida Gators stuffed the LSU Tigers twice in the red zone to earn a 16-10 victory in Death Valley, LSU not only loss the game but a series of questions are up in the air as the Tigers prepare for their season finale against Texas A&M on Thanksgiving Day. For starters, with the Tigers losing the game, LSU interim head Ed Orgeron can most likely kiss his chances of being the LSU head football coach goodbye.
