NABJ: The National Association of Black Journalists

  • Served as a liaison between the NABJ Board of Directors, the NABJ Student Council and all student members of the NABJ

  • Coordinated with the NABJ Board of Directors and NABJ staff members to support the production of organization projects, initiatives, conferences and workshops

  • Managed the NABJ Students social media channels (e.g. Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) in providing digital posts and tweets about helpful journalism tips, scholarship opportunities, job opportunities as well as internship opportunities

  • Assisted students in establishing NABJ student chapters at various colleges and universities in the United States

  • Served as a member on the 2017 NABJ Strategic Planning Committee in focusing on the priorities for the organization that include financial and organizational stability, NABJ jobs, training and professional development, advocacy and special projects for a digital-first media industry

  • Created, executed and partnered with the NABJ Digital Journalism Task Force to produce digital programming for NABJ students (e.g. webinars, Google hangouts and TwitterChats)

  • Created Training Day, a day-long series of programming geared toward preparing young journalists for a successful convention; and

  • Completed seasonal board reports for national board meetings
