The difference maker in this game needs only two words: Megan Abrams. First-seeded Houma Christian Warriors had no answer for Abrams and the third-seeded Lafayette Christian Knights as Abrams 33-point performance lifted the Knights past the Warriors, 54–46, in the 2017 Allstate Sugar Bowl/ LHSAA Girls’ Marsh Madness Division IV Championship.
From being named the first female head football coach in Louisiana high school history to becoming national champs in deaf football, Louisiana School for the Deaf coach Susan Gremillion is leading the way and exceeding the odds.
Despite a close start in the beginning, first-seeded Florien used a huge third quarter performance behind the play of Aja Law to pull away down the stretch to defeat fourth-seeded Anacoco, 53–38, in the 2017 Allstate Sugar Bowl/ LHSAA Girls’ Marsh Madness Class B State Championship.
